Murree is a city on the Pir-Panjal Mountain range, 30 KM from Islamabad. It is an administrative tehsil of Rawalpindi District in Punjab province. It’s average altitude is 7,516 Ft. (2,219 M). It is a hill-station in Punjab province. The city is surrounded by Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Muzaffarabad, AJK &amp; Abbottabad, KPK. It was founded in 1851 AD by the British troops. The city served as a Sanatorium &amp; Summer Capital of the Punjab during the british era.  The current population of Murree is around 25,000 according to 2017 census.<h4>Tourism in Murree</h4>Murree serves as a tourist destination for families and often regarded as Honeymoon Capital of the country. It is one of the few places in Punjab with regular snowfall during winters. There are many tourist attractions in and around the city. Some of the most famous are:

1. Mall Road

2. Patriata (Cable, Car &amp; Chair Lift)

3. Pindi Point

4. Kashmir Point

These tourist spots are located in Murree Tehsil of Punjab Province. Majority of the attractions related to the city are actually in Abbottabad District. Some of the locations are:

2. Khanspur

3. Miranjani

4. Nathia Gali

5. Kalabagh

6. Ayubia National Park

7. Namli Maira Waterfalls
All of these stated spots are quite famous among travelers. Most of the people visit Mall road in winters to enjoy Snowfall. Some of the quite infamous tourist destinations surrounding but not within the city limits includes:

1. Riyala Waterfall at Khanspur

2. Sajikot Waterfall on Nathiagali-Kalabagh Road

3. Ban Karore Forests on Kahuta Road

4. Tilla Jogiyan in the Ban Karore Forest Area

<h4>Security Situation in Murree</h4>

Murree is one of the safest places in Pakistan. There are no recorded incidents related to tourist safety in the previous 10 years. You can find Police check posts in and around the city for tourists’ safety. Army garrison is also located in the tehsil for security reasons. After entering into KPK from Punjab, you’ll witness KPK Tourist Police. The KPK Tourist Police is made by the KPK government to ensure tourists’ safety. They really help you a lot in case of emergency. There are Tourist Police posts on the KPK side. Al together Murree is very much safe for all tourists and foreigners.

Murree is one of the most expensive tourist destinations in Pakistan. Hoteling as well as fooding here are very much expensive as compared to rest of the Pakistan. You should bargain with anyone selling you the stuff in Murree.

<h4>What’s a Gali</h4>

“Gali” is a word in local pothohari language. You’ve often heard of the word when someone’s talking about Murree. Some of the most famous gali’s in Murree are:1. Nathia Gali2. Donga Gali3. Koza Gali4. Changla Gali5. Bansura Gali6. Khera Gali
The word “Gali” actually mean a path along side mountains. Like you’ve some Tariq Road or Shahrah-e-Faisal or Street 23 in your locality. Likewise they have their Gali’s in Murree. It isn’t a science dude’s
